India Diversity Manager – Job Description
The India Diversity manager is a strategic position that will drive the India organization to achieve the identified diversity goal. The individual will be responsible to ensure a healthy diversity mix in the organization as per the defined requirements based on global vision, the local market conditions and the legal requirements. The individual should have at least 13 to 15 years of experience in the Human Resources arena with a through understanding of the subject. The individual should have strong leadership skills and should be able to recognize and challenge others’ personal bias. The individual should be able to lead a broad cross functional project and should have the ability to influence business leaders. The ability to handle multiple tasks and complex projects simultaneously is important. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Principal Accountabilities· Serve as diversity resource and expert. Works with businesses and corporate to customize diversity strategy and programs to meet local needs.
· Ensures diversity activities are aligned with key business goals and metrics. Partner with businesses to assess program and activity ROI.
·Works closely with Business liaisons and corporate communications, The Company’sFoundation, Human Resources, Public Affairs, and Talent Acquisition to communicate policies and programs to employees, senior management and public/government agencies.· Interface with external community representatives.
·Make recommendations to management on program changes and short and long range planning.
·Provides managerial leadership, coaching/feedback and development for peers and business partners.
·Evaluate new programs and identifies new opportunities.
Scope· Develop relationships with, and provide leadership direction to key executives and organizations to help them champion and drive diversity within their organizations.· Responsibility for diversity training.
·Participates as key driver in diversity policy and program development in partnership with other senior human resource staff and the business.
·Objectives reviewed by senior management to determine success of operation.
·Act as advisor to peers and business leaders to meet schedules and/or resolve problems.Complexity· Receives assignments in form of objectives where independent thought and judgment is required for determining appropriate course(s) of action.
·Provides guidance to business partners according to established policy practices.
·Works on problems complex in nature under minimal to no supervision.
·Understands the business, takes complex issues and can put together and implement a plan to help solve the issues.
·Influences decisions via recommendations based on thorough business analyses
